Is DICOM.AI FDA-cleared for clinical diagnosis?
DICOM.AI is intended for research, education, and reference purposes. It is not FDA-cleared and should not be used as the sole basis for clinical diagnosis. Always use certified PACS software for primary clinical interpretation.
What does "Bring Your Own Key" mean?
DICOM.AI does not include an AI subscription. You provide your own API key from OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude. This means you control your AI costs, choose your preferred model, and maintain full ownership of your data. The AI features are optional — the viewer works fully without them.
What DICOM modalities are supported?
DICOM.AI supports CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, and other standard DICOM modalities. It handles common transfer syntaxes including JPEG, JPEG 2000, and RLE compressed files.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. All core viewing, MPR, 3D rendering, and measurement features work completely offline. Only the AI-assisted analysis features require an internet connection to reach your configured AI provider.
How does licensing work for a clinic?
Lab and Site licenses are managed through our license server. When you purchase, you'll receive a license key with a set number of seats. Each machine activates online against the server, which tracks how many seats are in use. You can deactivate a machine anytime (e.g., when replacing hardware) to free up the seat for another computer. The viewer also works offline after initial activation.
Is my patient data sent anywhere?
DICOM.AI processes all images locally on your machine. The only exception is if you explicitly use the AI analysis feature, which sends image data to your configured AI provider using your own API key. No data is ever sent to DICOM.AI servers. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with your institution's data policies.
What's the difference between annual and one-time pricing?
The annual subscription ($59/year) includes all future updates and new features for as long as your subscription is active. The one-time purchase ($149) gives you a perpetual license for the current version. Major version upgrades would require a new purchase.
